Dual Sliding Glass Door Specifications

General Specifications:

The Aluminum Sliding Glass Door as shown and specified here in shall be the VICTOR SERIES PD-600/700 PATIO DOOR as manufactured by Victor Sun Control Inc., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and so shall meet or ex-ceed the AAMA\NWWDA\101\I.S.2 - 97 specifications. They shall be so manufactured as to be completely reversible at any time after installation without disassembling any part of doors or frame.

Material:
All sections shall be manufactured from 6063-T5 extruded aluminum alloy having a guaranteed minimum tensile strength of 22,000 lbs./sq.in., with a nominal minimum wall thickness of .062. All component parts and accessories shall be of stainless steel, aluminum, or other corrosion resistant material.

Construction:
All frame and panel joints shall be neatly and securely fitted in such a manner as to provide strong and weather tight connections. Interlocking, and pull stile sections shall be of hollow construction to provide resistance to deflection or twisting. Panel stiles and rails shall be notched to provide a full interlock in each corner. Both fixed and moving panels shall be removable for repair, reglazing, or to reverse panel operation. Note: the moving panel, when in a locked position shall not be removed from outside. Moving panel shall be equipped with sealed ball bearing rollers, adjustable at each corner to allow for proper alignment with masterframe. Frame members shall consist of a header, sill, and jambs to be fastened at each corner. The sill shall be sloped for proper drainage.

Weatherstripping:
The moving panel shall interlock with the fixed panel with double weather-stripping of silicone treated woolpile at the interlock rail and throughout the head, both jambs, and the sill to create a double weatherstrip barrier around the entire perimeter between door panels and masterframe.

Glazing:
Panels shall be constructed for glazing with 1/8" tempered or 5/8" tempered insulated safety glass. Glazing shall be of a channel or boot-type flexible vinyl extrusion.

Hardware:
Hardware shall be flush-mounted with interior pull handle for ease of operation. Night latch mechanism shall be so constructed as to prevent accidental lockout if closed in the locked position. Door hardware shall be easily adaptable to keyed cylinder locks (optional).

Screens:
(Optional) Screens supplied shall be an extruded aluminum hollow “UNIFRAME” type construction with a flush-mounted self-locking latch, and fitted with 18 x 16 fiberglass mesh. Screens shall roll on ball bearing tension mounted adjustable rollers set at top and bottom. Screens shall be equipped with woolpile insect proofing at interlocking stiles.

Finish:
Sliding door masterframe and panel sections shall have an electrostatic applied, baked painted finish. Colors available are white and bronze.

Erection:
(By others) Sliding doors shall be installed square, plumb, and level and securely fastened according to manufacturers instructions and accepted construction methods. All necessary screws for a standard installation shall be furnished by the manufacturer. All caulking shall be the responsibility of the installer and be sufficient to accomplish a watertight installation. Panels shall be installed to allow proper functioning of sliding door, locking mechanism, and weathering.
